MASN Broadcaster Rob Dibble to Miss Nationals' Upcoming Road Trip

by FanHouse StaffFiled under: Nationals, MLB Media Watch, Sports Business and MediaRob Dibble's absence from the Nationals' broadcasting booth will extend through the team's upcoming six-game road trip, according to MLB.com.

Dibble, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network's regular color commentator on Nationals broadcasts, asked for a few days off earlier in the week after he was sharply critical of Stephen Strasburg on his Sirius XM Radio show when the young pitcher came out of a start last weekend with an injury.

"So for me, a little bit has to be put back on Strasburg here," Dibble said then. "OK, you throw a pitch, it bothers your arm, and you immediately call out the manager and the trainer? Suck it up, kid. This is your profession. You chose to be a baseball player. You can't have the cavalry come in and save your butt every time you feel a little stiff shoulder, sore elbow. ... Stop crying, go out there and pitch. Period." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
