Filed under: Texans, AFC SouthAndre Johnson is very, very thankful today. And very rich, too.
With Johnson, the Houston Texans' four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, signing a contract extension that added two years to his contract - and $38.5 million to his bank account - he is now very much the definition of what he has been for several seasons: a franchise player.
"A Texan for life," Texans General Manager Rick Smith put it.
And while the NFL is littered with players who sign long-term contracts that seem to assure a player will finish his career in a certain city only to not have that be the case, Johnson certainly has the feel of a one-uniform-in-a-career guy.
