Canucks Replace Popular Assistant Coach Ryan Walter

Filed under: Canucks, NHL CoachingThe Vancouver Canucks replaced popular assistant coach Ryan Walter with Newell Brown, pictured at right, on Monday.

Walter, a New Westminster, B.C., native, left the organization after two seasons as an understudy. No reason was given for his departure.

It was previously thought Walter, a former star centre who played the final seasons of his 15-year NHL career with the Canucks, was leaving on his own accord. But he indicated in a statement on his website Monday that his departure was not voluntary.

"After a great deal of consideration, the Canucks have determined that I will leave the organization after two seasons as an assistant coach," said Walter. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Commentshua hin cribbage roller skates
