Arenas originally complained of a discomfort in his surgically-repaired knee on Tuesday morning, so head coach Flip Saunders sat him down for the game. After the game, Arenas admitted to faking the injury to allow fourth-year guard/forward Young to receive more playing time. Young scored 24 points in that game.
After Wednesday's practice, Arenas spoke to reporters.
"I screwed up again, so I just want to say sorry," he said. "I wasn't really thinking that this was going to be another media outburst. It's like everything I do now, someone, tit for tat, tries to blow it out of proportion."
Arenas did not start in Thursday's game against Milwaukee, however a groin injury just three minutes into the game forced him to the bench. His availability for the rest of the preseason is unknown. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
