For a normal person, having surgery on a finger would qualify as a big deal. For Steven Jackson and other NFL players, it's just another Monday.Jackson had a pair of pins inserted to fix a crack in his left ring finger, but he still has a good chance to play in next Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Jackson broke the finger in Week 7 against the Buccaneers, but it didn't slow him down. He rushed for 110 yards, his third straight game over the 100-yard mark. Actually, Jackson didn't even notice the finger was broken until doctors took a look at it on Monday (players often report on Monday morning to have injuries checked out by the training staff).
