Magic vs. Heat: D-Wade and Miami Dominate Orlando in South Beach

MIAMI -- Miami coach Erik Spoelstra has been talking since the start of training camp - and he did it again pre-game Friday -- that the rise of the Heat this season will be "a process,'' asking for patience instead of a polished product early this season.

The Process didn't take very long.

The Heat may have looked lost in their opener in Boston earlier this week, but they looked overpowering Friday night when they destroyed the Orlando Magic, who came with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.

What they proved was just how quickly Miami might put this championship team together. So much for The Process. This was a 96-70 spanking.

The Magic still might be a 60-win team this season - and Dwight Howard looked really, really good in the first half -- but they looked like the Washington Wizards in the second half in Miami Friday night.

Dwyane Wade led everyone with 26 points, while the Magic scored just 25 points in the second half, wilting under the defensive pressure of the Heat.
