Pickin' on the Big Ten, Week 10

Usually by the first week of November, we have a clear look at which team will be headed to the Rose Bowl, which will be headed to any sort of bowl, and which is headed nowhere. Iowa's takedown of Michigan State last Saturday created a four-way tie for first place among teams that have traded losses with each other. Even more confoundingly, as far as I can tell, no team can win the conference outright simply by winning the rest of its games. Indeed, as far as I can tell, it's mathematically impossible for any team to win the Big Ten outright without a couple down-the-stretch upsets. The only thing we can know for sure about the postseason at this point is that Minnesota won't be taking part. Of course, we knew that about seven weeks ago.
