Tank Johnson Placed on Injured Reserve

The Bengals placed defensive tackle Tank Johnson on injured reserve, more than three weeks after he initially sustained a knee injury in the Bengals' 22-14 loss to the Dolphins on Halloween.

Johnson has been a solid contributor since he joined the club last season after being bounced from both the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. He had 12 tackles in his seven starts this season.

The Bengals signed free agent cornerback Fred Bennett to fill Johnson's roster spot and to provide depth for a banged-up secondary.

Bennett started this season with the Houston Texans, but was cut on August 30. He signed with the Chargers, but was released Oct. 11.
