The NHL All-Star game is no stranger to experimentation, and it appears as if the league is poised to significantly alter how the game goes forward again.According to reports, the league is considering a full-scale change to the game and how its teams are made up. Instead of an East vs. West format, two captains would "draft" their squads during a live television event during All-Star weekend.
Fan voting would determine the game's starters, and the league's operations department would pick the rest of the available players. From there, the players would vote on captains and alternate captains, and the captains would then pick their teams.
While the change hasn't been decided on yet, it's expected to be formally made and announced in the coming days.
