Pete Carroll Confirms Russell Okung Out for Seahawks' Opener

Filed under: Seahawks, NFC West, NFL InjuriesSeahawks coach Pete Carroll went through the list of who will, who won't and who might play in a chat with the Seattle media at noon Wednesday.

Out:

--LT Russell Okung (sprained ankle), who will miss this week, maybe next week and maybe more. The Seahawks would like to believe he'll be back next week. Chester Pitts, if healthy, will start; Tyler Polumbus will start if Pitts can't go.

--TE Anthony McCoy (sprained ankle) is out for the opener with San Francisco.

Maybe:

--LB David Hawthorne, who has missed time recently with a hip injury, should play some. Whether or not Hawthorne will start, however, will likely be a game-day decision. If Hawthorne doesn't start, Will Herring will get the call.

--RT Stacy Andrews, just picked up from Philadelphia, could get some time on the field.
