Not that the Jaguars' being undefeated is a shock. While they were expected to still perhaps be in building mode, their victory in the regular-season opener over the Denver Broncos came in a game many believed the Jaguars could win and one some believed they had to win if they expected to contend this season.
Its the Jaguars' opponent's situation that's a surprise.
It's easy to forget, because their postseason loss came in the Divisional Playoff round, but the Chargers finished last season 13-3 with their fourth-consecutive division title and many believed San Diego was capable of eliminating top seed and eventual AFC Champion Indianapolis.
The Chargers were upset by the Jets in the divisional round, and while that game is old news, a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2010 regular-season opener on Monday is not. With wide receiver Vincent Jackson and offensive tackle Marcus McNeill holding out, the Chargers gave up too many big plays on special teams and could never overcome early momentum and a rabid Chiefs home crowd in a 21-14 loss.
