Floyd Mayweather Jr. Arrested for Grand Larceny in Domestic Incident

by Hal SpivackFiled under: Sports Business and MediaLas Vegas police confirmed on Friday that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been arrested and booked on charges of grand larceny in relation to Thursday's domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.

The 33-year-old undefeated boxer was booked at Clark County Detention Center in Nevada at approximately 10:45 a.m. local time, according to police.

The charge relates to personal items Mayweather allegedly took from ex-girlfriend Josie Harris' house on Thursday morning, most notably her iPhone.

Mayweather has since been released after posting bail at $3,000.

Although Mayweather was arrested and booked on charges of grand larceny, he was not arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence because an arrest for that charge must be made 24 hours within the crime. After that time passes in Nevada, the case has to be submitted to the district attorney's office to be reviewed. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
