HOUSTON -- Throw 62 passes in a game and one of them is bound to be a really bad one.Unfortunately for Matt Schaub and the Houston Texans, that regretful toss came in overtime, after a thrilling 21-point comeback, and landed in the arms of Baltimore cornerback Josh Wilson, who walked into the end zone for a 12-yard interception return and 34-28 victory for the Ravens, ending Monday night's roller-coaster ride at Reliant Stadium.
Chalk up another season of frustration and exasperation for the Texans (5-8), who fell three games behind the Jacksonville Jaguars and two back of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South standings. This was supposed to be the year the expansion franchise born in 2002 -- coming off its first winning season -- finally got off the postseason snide.
"We had a different plan of how this season was going to go," Schaub said after passing for 393 yards against the Ravens before his fatal throw. "It wasn't exactly like this."
"It's been heartbreaking week-in and week-out," linebacker Brian Cushing said after a rare solid performance from the Houston defense went wasted. "I don't really have much to say."
The Texans are likely headed for a massive makeover, with owner Bob McNair having two words to say to coach Gary Kubiak: "You're fired."
